High Speed

Andrew Largeman: You know that point in your life when you realize that the house that you grew up in isn't really your home anymore? All of the sudden even though you have some place where you can put your stuff that idea of home is gone.
Sam: I still feel at home in my house.
Andrew Largeman: You'll see when you move out it just sort of happens one day one day and it's just gone. And you can never get it back. It's like you get homesick for a place that doesn't exist. I mean it's like this rite of passage, you know. You won't have this feeling again until you create a new idea of home for yourself, you know, for you kids, for the family you start, it's like a cycle or something. I miss the idea of it. Maybe that's all family really is. A group of people who miss the same imaginary place.

-Garden State

You may have noticed I've used this quote before, but I felt it was more appropriate due to the fact that I actually live away from home now. Maybe I should watch that movie again...it was a pretty good one.

Speaking of good movies, I'm really enjoying my film class this semester. Even though it's a dreadful three hours long, I really don't mind. It's nice to be introduced to all those classics that you always hear about but never bother to see. (ie Citizen Kane) My professor is the shit to top it off, and I'm loving it.

I just got off the phone with my mother. She told me to keep an eye on my concert and flight becuase they may get cancelled due to the newest storm. Hurricane Rita is FUCKING BITCH! I haven't been keeping up with the Weather Channel much since I've been to Denton, and apparently Rita is on her way to the Lone Star State. Could she have picked a better weekend for me? I think I'm still in shock of what my mom just told me. I don't think anybody has any idea how excited I was to come home this weekend...and to hear that my plans may be shat on because of some fucking storm is just the icing on the cake!

Fuck.

I've forgotten everything that I was gonna talk about now, so enjoy my pictures while I go crap myself hoping that my plans don't change.

This is the product of boredom. It may look like I don't have any arms, but I was actually pointing at the camera. (fyi, this took forever to make)

Every MWF I park in front of this creepy ass church to go to class. I swear they must have satanic rituals complete with human sacrifice, voodoo, and other really cool stuff in there. It just looks like one of those haunted houses...am I right?

I'm pissed at the hurricane too! I'm going home this Friday to visit my boyfriend and have to make a connection in Houston, of all freaking places, late Friday night when the weather could be turning bad. UGH! I completely understand your frustration. Keep your fingers crossed that we both make it to SA town!

Good luck with this weekend. I'll be sticking it out in College Station (unless we find out that it is going to hit us harder than they think right now, and then I might go home to San Antone). I hope everything goes your way though... you deserve a fun weekend! Anyway, my phone has been FUCKED up lately but when it works I'll give you a call! Later bitch!
