The Youth Problem

Ennis Del Mar: You ever get the feelin'... I don't know, er... when you're in town and someone looks at you all suspicious, like he knows? And then you go out on the pavement and everyone looks like they know too?

- Brokeback Mountain

It's over! Fall semester '06 is officially done with -- well, sort of. I finished my last final exam on Friday morning, however, I'm still sitting in my sad little apartment writing this blog. Thanks to the wonderful and organized department that is Radio-TV-Film, I have to stick around for God knows how long and wait for my grades to be released so that I can personally deliver my unofficial transcript to the head of the department so that I can apply to be a RTVF major and hopefully get some classes for Spring '07 that are probably already full. **deep breath** It sucks. I want to go home.

Did anybody see the Golden Globe nominations? Check them out here: http://www.imdb.com/features/rto/2007/globes

The Good News?
- Babel leads the noms and it totally deserves it
- Little Miss Sunshine is nominated for best comedy
- Maggie Gyllenhaal is finally nominated for her work!
- Little Children is getting recognition!
- The Fountain score is nominated
- The Office and Steve Carrell are nominated

The Bad News?
- Beyonce? Best actress? It must be the end of the world.
- Bobby was good, very effective...but was not one of the best dramas this year.
- Devil Wears Prada...while I enjoyed it, I'm still figuring out why it's nominated.
- Leo Dicaprio twice in one category? Please...he wasn't that good in The Departed.
- If Johnny Depp gets nominated for another Pirates movie, I'll scream.
- Um, Desperate Housewives is a terrible, terrible show.
- Dreamgirls...I'm sure it's probably great, and I will see it...but don't you think that everyone is already talking about how great it is, but nobody's even seen it?

I'm finished ranting for today. I'm going to go spend the next few days sitting on my ass, playing Roller Coaster Tycoon, and watching reruns on The Food Network. Jealous? Here are some pictures from my trip to Austin last weekend. Enjoy!:

Allie and Emily...Emily looks like she's pondering the meaning of life.

I was in Austin because Emily and Andrew were having a joint birthday party. We had to decorate and bake cupcakes for the party, but for some reason my friends chose to bake at 3am...and din't finish until 5:30am.
Picture 3002

El Rancho...again.
Picture 3007

The cupcake platter. I wish I would have gotten more shots of the decorations, but the flash on the camera kept fucking up the mood of the room. Oh well.
Picture 3010

Enjoying the delicious punch I made.
Picture 3012

Dancing to Emily's 8-hour playlist on iTunes.
Picture 3015

These were out Jell-O shots. Nice.

Did I mention we had to dress in cocktail attire?

This may be my last post for a while...I'll be back around mid-January with a months worth of pictures. Happy Holidays and laters for now!

Freudian Slip

Sarah Silverman: [on anal sex] He's, like, trying to sell me on it being "natural". I'm like, "Um, first of all - doody comes out of there, ok? And second of all - fucking doody comes out of there." I don't need two reasons when doody's involved.

- Sarah Silverman's: Jesus is Magic

My mom just called and, for the twentieth time, asked me what I wanted for Christmas. I usually just tell her the same shit: DVDs, clothes, and maybe a movie poster. But then after I hung up and was sitting on the toilet I thought, "I should've told her what I really want." So here is a list of what I really want for Christmas:

- A lease to a condo waiting for me in West Hollywood.
- A Toyota Prius
- A meet/greet session with Conan O'Brien
- To punch Pat Robertson in the mouth
- To high five Al Gore
- A makeout session with Sarah Silverman
- A life
- A clean roomate
- A self-cleaning bedroom
- Abs
- A clone
- The ability to glow my eyes red for a few seconds
- Outrageous krumping skills
- Eternal supply of gummi-worms
- The box DVD set of Flavor of Love

One thing I am getting for Christmas is pretty fucking sweet...behold!
NYC
NYC April '07, bitch!

Enjoy the pictures from the past couple of weeks:

My g-pa and his wife came into town for Thanksgiving and we saw their giant-ass automobile thingy and decided to take a picture of it.

Awkward Thanksgiving lunch...Kimberly's face makes me doody my pants.

So on my way home with Laura and Kevin, I brought my old yearbooks and ran across this hilarious senior picture. What the fuck?!

And Laura's tribute to the photo:

Back home! Riley almost had dingle berries.
Picture 2929

Time to put up Laura and Kevin's x-mas tree! They always play the movie Elf and drink while doing it...tradition.
Picture 2931

The X-mas tree box was like a coffin...so...I laid in it.

Picture 2935

Putting the balls on the tree...we got creative.
